Jump-Start your
Self Improvement in Seven Days!!!
Just to kick-start the topic, let's bring to mind the various
celebrity marriages that are falling apart like a stack of
dominoes. Though we may not care about who marries whom, it is
always thinkable why these marriages fail – the marriages of
the very people who help us to visualize the concept of
fairytale romances on the movie screen! An analysis is
definitely required.
Is it because of a loss in self-esteem? Perhaps! But the crux
of the matter is that we should not lose out on our own
self-identities, come what may.
What are the methods then to come above the riff-raff we so
commonly see around us? Here are some methods that could help
you improve yourself, all implementable within seven days:-
Realize your goals
Have you chalked out proper goals and ambitions in your life?
If you haven't, it is high time you did. You will not find
your success and happiness just by ambling along. Make a
mission for yourself in life and try to always focus on
achieving it. Though this might seem difficult to do at times,
be optimistic. Changes in life are bound to happen, and there
is no telling when the obstacles will turn to opportunities.
Realize your principles
There must be things in life that you value over others. These
are your principles. Some people value their family, their own
spiritual self, their education, their liberty, etc. What's
your priority? Set your values early on in life. Everything
you do must be commensurate with these values you have set for
yourself. And if it is not happening that way, maybe it’s time
to consider a few changes. Do not be bogged down when things
are not going your way either, in fact seek your motivation
from them and carry on.
Realize your desires
Unrealized desires are always retarding blocks of life. But
you need to still make a very good analysis of the desires you
want to achieve. They could be anything, ranging from family
acceptance to being in total individual liberty. But, it is
important to make a list of the things you are looking out
for. This helps to cut down on the stress and the depression.
Try making small practicable wish lists and attain them, a few
at a time. That will keep the fire burning.
Realize your passions
Passions are what you really enjoy doing in life. Bringing
doubt and boredom in your life will only thwart the progress
you are making, but try not to let them disorient you from the
journey. Learn to be vocal about your likes and dislikes; that
will keep you happier. Also, try to emulate people who have
impressed you.
Be true to your own self
Sometimes, it pays to be silent and meditate. Reflect on what
you are. Make harmony with nature. Breathe well. All this
helps to set your mind at ease. We live in a very busy world,
and it is very difficult for us to do all this. But it is just
as important. Try to dim all the lights of your room, put in
some mellow music and concentrate on your meditation. It
helps.
Admire your own potentials
All of us have some inner strengths, and we should always be
appreciative about them. If you are not able to identify these
strengths yourself, ask your best friend. Things like being
friendly, humorous, witty, etc. are all strengths. Love these
things about yourself, and show these to others when you can.
When you demonstrate your strengths in the open world, you
become more confident about yourself.
Be charitable
You will find that when you like a generous life, you are
happier. You feel more connected with people. And giving is
not just in kind. Even if you are good and truthful about your
job, you are doing some good to others. This is what will help
keep you happier. Share your gifts with others. It is a very
rewarding experience. People who are benefited by this will
definitely admire what you are doing unto them.
The benefits of self-improvement are many, and it is very
important that all of us endeavor to achieve it. And then, we
must not be hesitant to display our improved selves everywhere
that we go.
