It Is True That
Nothing Is Impossible
In each and every one of us lies a dreamer. And there are
mostly no limits to our dreams. We dream of becoming the next
President, the richest person on earth, the actor in Hollywood
with the largest number of fans, the next bestseller author…
we all have our dreams. And our dreams are often centered on
being successful, rich or simply contented in our
relationships.
Our dreams and aspirations are never small; they are always
bigger than what our resources provide us at the moment. That
is the reason why we dream actually – we want to enter into
the realm of the 'seemingly' impossible. But then we take this
whole impossibility equation too seriously, and the result is
that the dreams simply fizzle out and die away as time passes.
The death of a dream is a very sad thing to happen. Quite
often this happens because we get too wrapped up in our
routine life, and then give up chasing the dream.
It is quite necessary to understand and encourage ourselves to
reach higher ground. To dream and achieve!
However, when we try to bring our dreams to fruition, most
often we are slapped by a word in our face – 'impossible!'.
Before we even begin, we are thinking we will not be able to
do it. We are thinking there's just too much effort, or too
much opposition. And we mostly give up before we even make a
start.
But if that were the case, no one would have ever achieved
anything on this planet. There would never have been any
inventions or discoveries.
King Bruce learnt something from a spider. We can take a
lesson from the humble bumblebee. The bumblebee, scientists
said, has a totally anti-aerodynamic body, and it will not be
able to fly one bit. But the bumblebee had one advantage to go
along with it. It could not hear and understand the word
'impossible' that was thrown around it. So, it attempted to
fly. And fly it did!
If we dream and then do not make any efforts to achieve them
just because we think that the dreams are too unattainable,
then we might become mental wrecks. Frustrations could infest
our minds and our lives could become miserable to live.
In most cases, we are making limitations on ourselves by
creating situations of self-doubt. We will never be able to
make a start at all. But if we cast these aspersions aside and
begin our flight, we will find it very easy to unshackle
ourselves from this feeling of self-imposed handicap.
Here is one method you can try out. Make a list of the things
you want to achieve in your life. When you have jotted down
these things, classify them in three groups – things you know
you will be able to do, things that you might be able to do,
and things that you think are impossible to do. Make this list
as the primary focus of your life. Begin with the things you
are optimistic about achieving, and when you get them, strike
them off the list. In time, you will be able to check all the
things that you already knew you could do. When that is done,
move on to the list of things that you are only halfway sure
of doing. You will find that it is now easier to do these
things because your confidence is already bolstered by your
earlier achievements. Things that were not easily possible at
the outset are now falling into place.
This is the time when the impossible does not seem to be so
very impossible after all.
In this list making method, the basic effect is of putting
things down in black and white. When you are doing this, you
are not restricting your imagination in any way. But, of
course, you should not set up fantastic goals such as
'learning to fly'. But who knows… even that might be possible
if you try!!!
However, if you make a passionate goal in life and then just
let it stagnate, you are going to end up with nothing at all,
but a wretched life.
Think about all the past incidences when humankind considered
things impossible. Going on the moon was considered
outrageous, flying in a machine was considered ridiculous, and
speaking to anyone anywhere in the world in real time was
laughable. But all this has today become quite possible. How?
Certainly it is because of the determination of someone of
this world.
Being a genius is not just about dreaming; it is about
dreaming and then trying to achieve that goal. Enforcing work
and discipline in your life can make the impossible possible.
You cannot have six-pack abs without exercising; the same is
true with any other achievement that you need to have. Dream
and then make efforts to pursue the dream. That is what brings
impossible down to earth. That is what living is all about!Source:
